Family

As I grew up we got together with all of my Family for the holidays.  I’m talking Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years Eve.  Now my Grandparents had three boys & two girls.  Each boy got married & had two children, the girls got married & had one child each.  Okay so you’re talking twenty people coming together for the holidays.  This was a very important part of my child hood.  We all got to spend time together, laugh, fight, play, argue & just sometimes just plain old be downright mean to one another.  Now we always made up, but this taught us the value of Family & how no matter what, they are always there to forgive you or be the one to ask for forgiveness.

Now that I’m older & married I have one child.  But most of my cousins got married & had two children.  So with spouses & children you’re talking about a forty plus people getting together for the holidays.  So needless to say we can’t always all make it for the holiday get together’s, anymore.  Some of us have moved away, so getting time off to drive in for each holiday we get together for is hard.  But when most of the Family is able to be together it’s so wonderful.

I’m not a person that really likes to be around a lot of people.  But when it’s Family I’m just fine with it.  So if there’s time you just don’t think you can stand your Family anymore.  Remember that they will almost always be there for you & that some people don’t have a Family to turn to.  Even thou that’s all they have ever wanted.  So count your lucky stars & be thankful for the Family you have, even if sometimes they make you mad.
